Understanding the Word of Faith
Find out the truth about the Word of Faith, and why you should be interested
But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in your heart, who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

Or, who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

But what does it say? (the righteousness which is of faith) The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the Word of Faith, which we preach...

Romans 10:6-8

There has been controversy over Christians who practice speaking the promises in God's Word (God's Word IS His will) over their lives and the lives of others. Some don't seem to understand that the righteousness which is of the faith of God speaks the Words of God.  Many have "tried" speaking God's Word (His promises) a few times and quickly discounted the practice as being un-Biblical because they didn't "see" any immediate results with their natural eyes, and they didn't "feel" any different in their emotions and in their flesh.

Some have the erroneous, religious idea that the word of faith that is clearly taught in the Bible by Jesus and the Apostle Paul (among others) is somehow "metaphysical", or "magic", which couldn't be further from the truth. These folks are confusing satan's ongoing campaign of deception to counterfeit how God works with the instructions of Jesus to believers concerning the use of His own faith that we received when we were born-again.  In this article we will see specific scriptures that tell us to speak God's promises and expect God to honor His own Word because the promises made to mankind in His Word IS what He wants for us!

Considering the fact that there is no truth in satan (John 8:44) it should be no surprise that he does his best to counterfeit how God works in an effort to confuse people.  Attempts to deceive mankind's mind (understanding and vision) with wrong information is the only tool the devil has ever since Jesus stripped him of his power and authority!  The devil will try anything to keep you from believing, speaking, and acting on God's Word, because that's how God's anointing is manifested, which destroys the yoke of bondage (Isaiah 10:27).  He's always trying to choke the Word (see Mark 4:14-20) to keep it from becoming fruitful in your life...which puts him under foot!

The life of Jesus Christ is the perfect example of speaking God's Word with much success. In fact, Jesus is the One who specifically promised that we that we could have what we say in Mark 11:23,24 when He said "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray (or SAY), believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." The key to success here is to speak God's Promises that He has given to us, which is speaking God's will over our lives. Jesus has personally promised us that we can have what we say, so let's believe Him instead of religion!

God created the world and everything in it with His words of faith according to Hebrews 11:3. He spoke words when He was creating that caused what He was creating to manifest. Read the first chapter of Genesis and count how many times you see the phrase "and God said" when He was creating everything in this natural world. God recorded all this in Genesis to get across to us that He speaks words to create, and that words are very important to Him because this is how He releases His creative power. This is very important for us to know because Jesus IS the Word of God according to John 1:14, which helps us understand that Jesus is always in agreement with and speaks God's Word because He is the Word of God!

Ephesians 5:1 tells us to act like God does, in the same way children imitate their parents. If you are a born-again Christian, you have taken a promise of God, believed it, spoke it, and believed you received what was promised by God (Romans 10:9)…this is the Word of Faith, and it is what Paul preached (see Romans 10:8,10) as well as other biblical writers, including the writers of the gospels who quoted Jesus Christ saying that we could have what we say (see Mark 11:23,24)
You have to decide whether or not you are going to believe what Jesus said about this.  We can have what we say because Jesus specifically said that we could!

The Bible tells us to live in the same way we have received Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior (Colossians 2:6) There is too much evidence in the scriptures to prove that speaking God's Word is His will for man to write this off as some sort of strange, un-Biblical practice…which is exactly what satan would like for you to do! Obviously, speaking God's Words (His promises) which contain His faith, power, and authority is always better than speaking carnal words of fear, unbelief and defeat!  These are the only 2 options available to mankind, so choose LIFE!

Through out the Bible, we find instructions by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16) that teach and instruct God's people to confess the promises of God through speech and corresponding actions. This is even true back in the Old Testament, showing that this is a truth that God has desired from His people since the beginning. Jesus taught extensively concerning our speech which will be looked at closely in related articles on this subject.

Mankind was created in the likeness of God, in God's image (Genesis 1:26) and in His class (or type) of being. Mankind is the only creature God ever created like Himself that freely has the right to sow and reap, freely has the right to choose his own words, both of which empowers man to ultimately determine his own destiny and lifestyle. These gifts are primarily what makes man like God. His desire is for man to live the lifestyle that He lives because His will has always been for man to be like Himself. Man has the freedom to choose because God has the freedom to choose, which is often referred to as free will.

Romans 8:29 tells us that God intended for us to be like Jesus when He created us! If you're not acting and living like Jesus (who lives like God), then the only other available option is being carnally minded which is death (see Romans 8:5,6). Some folks get confused about this because of mankind's fall into sin. They seem to not understand that Jesus came and destroyed the works of the devil (1 John 3:8) and caused us to be born-again and become new creatures in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17).

There are many scriptures and examples of people acting in the will of God that are confessing God's Word…too many to ignore this as something that isn't God's will for His people at all times. Through out this article you will find scripture showing us that God is telling us to speak His Word and expect Him to honor His Word (see Jeremiah 1:12 and Hebrews 3:1) when we speak it out in faith as He does.
